Madden 2010 Online
Madden 2010 Online is thrill to play, like most of the games in the series. The competition online can be tough, and new comers have a little bit of a learning curve when competing online against veterans. Madden 2010 has added a couple of new components to this new version of the game. The main attraction in Madden 2010 is franchise mode online. Meaning you can manage your own team and put them through a 17 week season with 32 of your other friends in an online atmosphere. For example, gamers will be able to manage the drafting, agents, stadiums, and much more of each team like if they were the real life owners. The game is always being updated as players get traded and teams don’t live up to their preseason appearances.
Playing games online is broken down into playing ranked games, unranked games, franchise mode, mini games, and co-op mode. Madden’s ranked games keeps a record of your online matches. Gamers start out at level one and can gain levels by battling better players and having a decent winning percentage as you play online. Players with levels 10 and above can be pretty tough to beat, and for the most part have earned it. Levels are not giving out like candy in Madden and it makes you feel like you really accomplish something the higher levels you reach. Unranked games pit you against other players, but don’t count against your record. Franchise mode lets you play in your online leagues with other players. Co-op mode gives some refreshing 2v2 action in an unranked mode of the game.
Madden 2010 is rock solid when it comes to lag. It basically comes down to you or your opponent not having problems with slow internet. There are bugs that are still being worked out where the game can actually get stuck, but this is a very rare occasion as it has only happen to me once. Madden 2010 is always being patched and updated, so I’m sure they are still working out minor bugs as the game progresses.
The biggest upgrade that I have noticed from previous years is the games are a lot faster than before. On average games use to take about one hour to play each. Madden 2010 games take about 30 to 45 minutes on average. This reason comes from the in game clock being speed up after you choose a play to use almost all the time you have per each down, unless it is within the last 2 minutes of the game. This new mechanic is fantastic because it lets you play a madden game for 30 minutes and off you go to the next opponent. No more eating cookies while you wait for the clock to run down because you are abusing the other player down to the ground and he just wont give up.
Finally, Madden 2010 Online is one of the best sports games to play online. It is worth the purchase of the game alone and brings a sense of excitement that most games cannot deliver. If you are a fan of the NFL than this is an absolute must have if only because every single player is in the game and stats are as accurate as they can be.
