MadWorld Review
Madworld is a game rated mature for the Wii. The game is made up of black and white art with blood drowned in the illustrations like in the movie Sin City where the only color is red blood. Madworld is a fun hack and slash game that is integrated fluidly with the Wii controller. You are a character named Jack that has a chain saw attached to his arm.
The story is basically about being a fighter and making your way to the top. The coolest part about the game has to be all the different type of finishing movies and also being able to use the environment to kill people. You can use tires to wrap enemies and than stab a sign post through the front of their foreheads. You can throw enemies against spike walls repeatedly to kill them and swing the Wii remote upwards to throw uppercuts. There are a lot of head bashing and bodies being split in half in this game and its awesome.
The bad part about the game is the story is weak and other than creating interesting ways to kill enemy players there really is nothing else to do. There is a Multiplayer game, but it is not online and only allows you to replay the bonus rounds. Basically whoever kills more enemies by using some type of mechanism that is with in the arena is declared the winner. It’s pretty freaking wack.
The game does bring a mature feel to the Wii that we all should appreciate and the system is lacking in mature content. Madworld does feel very different because it is made up of black and white art but makes it feel right and satisfying.
Replay Value- Not much, multiplayer is wack.
Graphics- Great, black and white art give the game a different feel than most.
Controller-Great, Game meshes well with the Wii controller.
