Street Fighter 4

Street Fighter 4 is a fantastic fighting game that is a mix of the past and present. Street Fighter 4 has a cartoon feel to it, which is actually refreshing as the art and close ups are superbly done. The game mechanics really has not strayed away from its original content. All the characters pretty much do all the same moves, but with added special affects to certain abilities when your power meters reach full. There is a revenge meter that is new to Street Fighter 4, depending on how many times you are attacked it fills up. Once it is full the game lets you do a ultra combo. Ultra combos are combo hits that have a movie feel to it and show close-ups of the combo in process. You can tell that Capcom took the approach if it’s not broken do not fix it with this game. One thing that I didn’t like about the game is the controller. If you use the PS3 OR XBOX 360 controller the analog sticks can be hard to master on those controllers. I recommend buying an arcade joystick if you plan on hanging with the big boys online. Competition can be tough using the default controllers.

Street Fighter 4 online is fluid and there really hasn’t been any lag so far. There are two cool things about online play that stands it apart from other games. One, you can play in arcade mode and challengers can challenge you to a fight at any time. Two, you earn battle points by taking points away from other players online, which in turns creates a gambling type of system depending on players skill. I think this is the coolest part of the game because you will not want to stop if you are on a roll. This can also show if you beat someone with high points than you know you really are good.

Street Fighter 4 lets you choose all 12 original characters and 4 new characters to start the game, but there are a ton of hidden characters like Akuma, Gouken and Cammy. The hidden characters become playable once you complete a certain objective in the game. This was definitely something I liked because it forces me to play with different characters and makes the replay value on this game soar.

In conclusion, Street fighter 4 is a blast from the past with a few added goodies. When it comes to fighting games street fighter is still a notch above the rest. It’s surprising to see that Street Fighter is still around after all these years.

Replay Value- Great, makes you want to beat the game with all characters to unlock hidden characters.

Graphics-Great, the cinematic and art gives this lag free game a awesome feel

Controller- Ok, you can master using default controllers, but will always be at a disadvantage to real gamers

Online Play-Great, battle points and completing story mode while being online is awesome.Haven't seen lag yet.
