Uncharted 2 Review
Uncharted 2 for the Playstation 3 is so good that it feels like a summer blockbuster movie. This PS3 exclusive is a straight up master piece that no gamer should miss in 2009. The story and action is contently intense and fun. There is some great voice acting and cut scenes that at times make you feel like you are watching a movie. Uncharted 2 brings action like no other title on the market because of its fantastic visuals, immersive story, and great game play action.
The style of play in Uncharted 2 has a mix of everything, ranging from close combat action to run and gun game play. The game has some fantastic moments that I have never experienced before in a video game. One of the highlights of Uncharted 2 is fighting inside a big building that is falling over to the side with furniture and a handful of bullets flying around the room. At times I have to admit that it felt like I was spider man with the way your character can climb up walls and swing from ledge to ledge. This style of play leads for multiple options when figuring out your next move. This enables Uncharted 2 to have a ton of missions that call for being sneaky to get around certain obstacles. The game does a fantastic job of mixing the game play to always keep it fresh.
Uncharted 2’s story is one that is comparable to a movie. The acting and cut scenes are superb. The game takes you on an epic raid of a lost city and treasure that was once sought after by Marco Polo. The story takes you from a train wreck in the snow to a suburban city that is in the center of a civil war. Uncharted 2 is a game that you will want to finish without ever letting go of the controller, it’s that good. The fantastic visuals are top notched and very detailed. The cities and jungles are very true to their nature and bring a sense of realism that is unmatched.
Uncharted 2 comes with the option of a full online experience. The multiplayer in Uncharted 2 is a heap of fun and brings everything that a typical shooter online has, except a true co-op story mode. There is a ranking system and each time you battle you have a chance to earn levels by collecting money to optimize your character looks or stats. Characters can be upgraded by specializing with certain weapons or even changing their appearance before matches.
The multiplayer is a very nice touch to an already epic single player mode. There are a couple of options to choose from like team death match, objectives, elimination, co-op objectives, and co-op arena. Uncharted 2 is different than most war games when it comes to the online scene because it challenges you to think vertically and climb to different areas on the map. In conclusion, when you are done with the story mode there is a ton of fun waiting for you online.
To finish, Uncharted 2 is an epic journey that is brought to life on the PS3. The game play is fun and fresh. There are a lot of guns to choose from, but with the added slow motion affect of fighting, sometimes bare knuckles can be the best option for a weapon. Uncharted 2 is hands down one of the best buys for 2009 and if you are thinking about buying the game it is worth every penny.
Replay Value- Great, The online multiplayer is a lot of fun and well thought out.
Graphics-Wow, The graphics in the background are really nice and some of the games views can be breath taking.
